Our First Mother's Day

Our first Mother's Day has been completed.  It started off with a very long night...Cookie woke up several times and wouldn't go back to sleep.  I was exhausted in the morning when she woke up at 6 AM and thought Nick would get up and feed Cookie so I could sleep in...nope.  Not only that, but he blissfully slept while I sat there like a zombie feeding Cookie who was ready to start her day, cheerful and bright eyed.

Nick ended up getting up after I woke him up so I could get more sleep...I slept for another hour or so and a cranky, tired, ready to nap Cookie woke me up with a nice little card and gift of earrings and a necklace with her birthstone (garnets).  They are gorgeous although the necklace has been banished to my jewlery box because Cookie proved she likes to grab it and not let go.  I can be satisfied with the earings for a while.  Also?  Surprise!  Kate Spade purse.  I'm totally spoiled and it so made up for the sleeping hubby at 6AM!

Then we went for breakfast at our friend's home whose new little one is almost a month old (they have 3 year old as well).  Hubbies cooked, moms lounged.  Scrambled eggs, toast, and mimosas.  Yum!

Headed home that afternoon and dinner of Filippi's pizza and Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA.  Finished up with a pint of Ben & Jerry's.  What a perfect day...well except for waking up at 6AM to feed a hungry baby.  But, as a friend noted, the precident has been sent and Father's Day is just around the corner.  Guess who will be waking up then (yup, you're right, probably me, but a girl can dream, right?).

My first Mother's Day...what a feeling!

Still my most favoritist sleeping partner!
