2 Weeks Old!

Today was Cookie's 2 Week Birthday.  I can't believe she's been a part of our lives for 2 weeks now.  We had our 2 week follow up appointment with the Pediatrician.  Cookie is still 21 inches long, but has gained to 9 lbs even.  I was worried she wasn't getting enough to eat because she'd only nurse for roughly 10 - 15 minutes and wouldn't switch sides, but I guess I haven nothing to worry about.  Probably way TMI, but I'm also making a TON of milk.  I now pump twice a day because I get so uncomfortable and pump 8 - 10 oz after her feeding in the morning and at night.

Anyhow, we're still doing well.  Nick goes back to work tomorrow so it will be the first day Cookie and mom fend for themselves.  The only downer right now is Cookie's Circadian rhythm is completely off.  She likes to sleep from 3:30AM to 9 PM with small bouts of wakefulness, but then likes to be completely alert and party like a rock star from 9 PM to 3:30 AM.  Ugh.  We tried to explain to her that mommy and daddy are old and we partied like rock stars when we were younger, but she won't listen.  Pediatrician noted that Circadian rhythm will right itself by 4 months...umm 4 months?

We've been doing some work to try to help her along...waking her up at regular intervals and trying to keep her awake and keeping things dark and quiet at night.  Hasn't worked so far, but I keep reminding myself she is only 2 weeks old.

Another side note, yesterday was Cookie's due date.  It was a weird day to think she was supposed to arrive on that day and we'd already had the joy of her for 13 days.

Totally stealing this idea from my friend, Rachel, who did this with her first.  Look for a monthly shot to track Cookie's growth.

Can't wait to see more pics. Hope you and the family are doing well and that little Aubrey is letting you sleep at least a little!
